Leaking pipe penetrations are effectively fixed with targeted leak sealing injections
Some defects in concrete structures are commonly caused by 𝗽𝗶𝗽𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 that run through the concrete to make way for service lines. Leaks around service lines are often seen in multilevel car parks and basements. There are many leaking pipe penetrations for our NSW team to fix in Sydney nowadays! The specialist leak sealing technicians in SYDNEY and BRISBANE specialise in stopping passageways for water into buildings accurately and effectively with targeted high-pressure injections of water-reactive hydrophilic polyurethane.
During the original building construction, pipe penetrations are sealed with a cement-based plug or a patch from the interior side of the building. The plug creates a cold joint at the connection point between the cement-based plug and the concrete slab or wall panel. The plug does not seal the gaps throughout the whole wall or slab and the bond to the concrete usually fails over time. The cold joint is a weak point and may create a possible pathway for water to enter.
This pathway allows water to find its way into the gaps and seeps through the concrete around the pipe penetration.
Another thing to consider is that when a hole for the service pipeline is drilled through the concrete, the coring process may cause damage to the concrete structure by creating cracks. The core hole can often provide a direct path for water to pass through the concrete structure.
We at Waterstop Solutions Pty Ltd leak seal inject pipe penetrations on a highly regular basis.
We can help with any water ingress and/or concrete deterioration issues in QLD and NSW.
